About the Position
The Aquaculture Worker’s primary job is to carefully undertake the necessary husbandry to maintain the Genetically Improved Farmed Tilapia (GIFT) fish under the supervision of the hatchery supervisor. S/he will be required to assist scientists, other researchers, and research assistants in field work of research projects and other research related activities (e.g. workshops and trainings) to other programs/units/partners.
The successful candidate will:
1. Support in maintaining the current generations of GIFT, including all aspects of animal care including:
2. Assist in production of new generation(s) of GIFT including production, incubation, nursing, tagging, and growing out of families.
3. Supporting other research experiments of WorldFish as required.

Desirable Skills/Experience
This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position and WorldFish offers a competitive remuneration package including comprehensive benefits (but not limited to) insurance coverage for staff and eligible dependents, employer provident fund contribution, paid leave, and others. The duration of the contract will initially be for a three-year period with possibility for extension, depending on funding and performance.
