About the Opportunity

This newly created 3 month fixed term contract is an exciting opportunity to be a part of Minderoo’s Cancer Mission Anti-Vaping Campaign. As the Social Content Specialist, your passion, energy and creativity will be crucial to building momentum for change and empowering children and young people to say no to vaping.

Reporting directly to the Social Media Manager with a dotted line to the Principal Campaign Manger, this role is Perth based and is key to driving the success of our national campaign.

The successful candidate will demonstrate specialist skills in social media management, with a particular focus on content creation and moderation, providing concise reporting on the comments and themes across channels and platforms. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to make quick decisions based on best practice, overarching campaign strategy & desired outcomes and informed content management experience.

About You

Do you know how teenagers and young adults use social media platforms? Do you understand how multi-channel campaigns are managed? Are you quick to understand and anticipate social commentary and trends? Can you create social media contents in a range of formats?

Most importantly, are you confident that you can moderate and respond to public comments in ways which increase confidence & credibility in a campaign or for a brand?

Minderoo Foundation is searching for a specialist to manage the creation, publishing and moderation of social media content for a national, multi-channel marketing campaign. We are aiming to engage the hearts and minds of our audiences to help create change and help prevent children and young people from becoming addicted to nicotine.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with high-capacity experts and specialists, a top tier marketing agency, and prominent non-for-profit organisations. We need someone who can speak authentically to people aged 14-25, someone who can hit the ground running with an eagerness to learn, a passion for youth wellbeing, and specialist skills.

To be successful in the role you will possess:

  • Strong social media content planning and creation skills, and interest in leveraging social media to make positive change.
  • Excellent culturally-sensitive social media moderation skills, including with TikTok, Instagram and other channels and platforms, current & emerging.
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills that enable you to confidently respond to complex social media commentary, including AI bots.
  • Social media evaluation and reporting skills, with experience using social media management tools.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to work confidentially in a nimble and ever-changing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, digital marketing, policy or related fields
  • Experience within public health, or tobacco control and/or behavioural marketing will be valuable but not mandatory.
