Brief Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a tropical marine manager to join our team of conservationists, based at our Marine Discovery Centre (MDC) at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa. This is a multi-faceted professional role that requires both a scientific background and team management expertise to succeed within a world-class hospitality environment.

The Role

• Management and responsibility for the resident Reefscapers team and all daily operations.
• Support for all programmes: coral propagation, turtle conservation, aquaculture.
• Supervise and coach team members; train Reefscapers Apprentices and Four Seasons Interns.
• Regular written reports (in English) of all projects and targets.
• Management of guest activities, public-relations, and environmental awareness events.
• Includes staff board & lodging, high savings potential, 2-minute daily commute!

The Ideal Candidate

• Academic qualifications in a relevant discipline (Marine Biology, Environmental Science).
• 5 years’ experience in tropical marine conservation, project management, staff supervision.
• Specific knowledge and experience in the fields of coral biology and sea turtle conservation.
• PADI DiveMaster (or equivalent) essential; 10m free-diving ability preferred.
• Excellent standard of spoken and written English (additional language/s preferred).
