We are seeking applications from hard-working marine graduates looking for an unpaid internship, based at a 5-star island resort in the Maldives. This position is an exciting opportunity for a coral-loving conservationist to expand their hands-on skills in the field.

Closing date: 20 April 2026, but apply today as we may close early!
Work period: 3 months, May to July 2026 (essential).
✅ There is no charge to join our internship program, but no salary is paid.
✅ Staff food & accommodation are provided, and each morning there’s a 1-minute walk to work!
Approximately 50% of our interns are later hired in full-time Reefscapers roles, or find work elsewhere in the Maldives.

Brief Description

The Role

• Daily underwater reef restoration work – coral ID, fragment harvesting, frame transplantation, repairs & maintenance, photography.
• Assist with our coral reproduction research – monitoring coral spawning on night dives.
• Interact with resort guests and local students to promote marine conservation awareness.

The Ideal Candidate

• BSc/MSc in Marine Biology (or related) with a passion for tropical marine conservation. Experience with corals preferred.
• Strong swimmer & qualified diver (essential) able to work long hours in the ocean in all weathers.
• You must be available to start work in May 2026, and for the full 3 month period.

❎ Under-graduate students looking for work-placement, and candidates unable to commit to the full 3-month period.
❎ Graduates in unrelated disciplines, even if you are an experienced conservationist or dive master.
❎ Couples, social media influencers, or photo/videographers (you must also be a marine graduate).
