Spend your summer at the coast helping educate and engage the community in coastal conservation and learn about nonprofit work at the Southern Branch of the North Carolina Coastal Federation. Our Southeast office in Wrightsville Beach is a vibrant community with hands-on projects from working in a nonprofit setting to re-building oyster reefs and coastal habitats. The Deadline to apply for Summer Intern Positions has passed. Intern Functions include: assisting education, advocacy, and restoration staff with research, design, planning, implementation, and evaluation of projects; helping plan and promote volunteer, education, and fundraising events; assisting with digital marketing and contributions to the website and social channels; developing and implementing tools and events to engage the community at the Coastal Education Center; representing the Federation at public events and workshops; assisting with volunteer management; developing educational activities; gaining hands-on training in environmental stewardship; and assisting with office operations. Compensation: Interns receive a taxable stipend of $5,760 provided in a lump sum to host organizations. Eligibility: NC native/resident at an accredited four-year college or university; rising sophomore, junior, or senior; Pell Grant eligible; DACA and undocumented students are eligible.
