Spend your summer at the coast helping educate and engage the community in coastal conservation at the Southern Branch (Southeast office) in Wrightsville Beach. This program offers hands-on nonprofit experience, from rebuilding oyster reefs and coastal habitats to supporting outreach. The Deadline to apply for Summer Intern Positions has passed. Intern functions include assisting education, advocacy, and restoration staff with research, design, planning, implementation, and evaluation of regional projects; helping plan and promote volunteer, education, and fundraising events; assisting with digital marketing and contributing to the website and social channels; engaging the community at the Coastal Education Center and recruiting new members; representing the Federation at public events; assisting with volunteer management; developing educational activities and materials; participating in restoration events (e.g., rain garden installations, oyster reef builds); and assisting with office operations. Compensation: taxable stipend of $5,760 (lump sum from funder). Eligibility: NC native/resident at an accredited four-year college or university; rising sophomore, junior, or senior; Pell Grant eligible (DACA and undocumented students eligible).
