Are you skilled at turning stories into videos, posts, and campaigns that make an impact — and passionate about using digital channels to amplify meaningful causes?

We are looking for a part-time Digital Communications Officer to join our Italian team on a maternity cover contract.

In this role, you will help us strengthen our online presence and visibility by managing our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) and ensuring our website remains up to date and easy to discover.

More and more people are becoming aware of the challenges our oceans face — but awareness alone isn’t enough. Join us and help turn awareness into action, promoting sustainable fishing and safeguarding ocean health.

At the MSC, you’ll have the chance to use your digital creativity to make a real impact — inspiring people to choose sustainable seafood, supporting fishers committed to protecting marine ecosystems, and helping to safeguard the future of our oceans. Your work will directly contribute to raising awareness and driving change on one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.

You will report to the Senior Communications Manager, Italy but you’ll have the chance to collaborate with colleagues.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • a post-graduate degree and/or proven experience in social media management (IG, FB, YouTube) and online advertising
  • strong content creation and video editing skills
  • experience of website management (e.g. WordPress) and SEO principles
  • a creative, proactive, and organised mind with excellent communication skills
  • a passion for sustainability and an interest in the health of the world’s oceans.

The MSC is committed to flexible working. The successful candidate will need to work from the ITALY office for a minimum of 50% of their working time each month The remaining time can be worked from home. During the onboarding process, hybrid work may require more in-office work than remote work.
