The Vacancy

Are you a creative storyteller who lives and breathes social media? Do you know what stops the scroll, and how to turn engagement into impact? Want to use your skills to promote sustainable seafood around the world? Then, you might be the Social Media Manager we’re looking for!

We’re looking for a Social Media Manager to create compelling content and drive social media engagement. You can play a part in our Social media – it is a vital channel for raising awareness of the MSC’s mission and blue label, growing engagement with seafood consumers and stakeholders, and reinforcing the MSC’s position as a leading global authority on sustainable seafood.

This role is highly collaborative, engaging across teams and with partners to amplify MSC’s mission and storytelling. Therefore, to be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Creativity and storytelling skills to create visually engaging content for multiple social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of the evolving social media landscape and best practices including algorithms, trends, and content formats.
  • Experience working with paid, organic and earned social media content alongside a deep understanding of platform-specific content requirements.
  • Excellent graphic design and video editing skills including advanced proficiency in Canva Pro and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to get on with colleagues and partners around the world.

If you're passionate about creating impactful social media content and have the skills to make our MSC channels more engaging, we want to hear from you.

Application closing date : 16 June 2025, 9am, BST

We’re an international organisation and our employees all demonstrate a level of cultural awareness, and value the diverse views and approaches relevant to the MSC program.

The MSC is committed to flexible working. The successful candidate will need to work from the London (UK) office for a minimum of 50% of their working time each month. The remaining time can be worked from home. During the onboarding process, hybrid work may require more in-office work than remote work.

Please be aware, we are only able to progress with candidates who already have the right to work in the location specified in this advert. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship at this time.

Working at the MSC

The MSC’s vision is for the world’s oceans to be teeming with life, and seafood supplies safeguarded for this and future generations. Today, the impacts of overfishing and climate change pose an even greater threat to the ocean and fish stocks. Through our internationally recognised certification and ecolabeling program, well-managed sustainable fisheries are recognised and rewarded throughout the seafood supply chain. Over 700 fisheries around the world, representing 19% of the annual global marine catch, are now engaged in the MSC program and MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in over 66 countries. Through partnerships and collective endeavour, we are on a mission to end overfishing.
