Are you excited by the opportunity to bring engaging stories surrounding the Marine Steward Council's mission to life? The MSC, the world's leading sustainable seafood ecolabel, is committed to ending overfishing and protecting the wider marine environment.

The MSC UK & Ireland team is looking for a Senior Communications and Marketing Manager to lead the delivery of exciting and ambitious campaigns that highlight the important work that we do.

To ensure our campaigns remain fresh, exciting and relevant, we need an innovative thinker, who can trial new approaches, whilst evolving our tried and tested activities, maintaining consistent communications for our target audiences.

You’ll be leading and delivering national campaigns with big name brand partners across the UK and Irish seafood supply chain, utilising the power of MSC’s brand and that of our partners, to spread the incredible stories and positive impact that MSC certified fish are making on our oceans.

We want you to help fishing communities to celebrate their sustainability and have their stories shared with the public and our wider stakeholder community. We also want fish and seafood that is certified sustainable to be promoted and supported by the UK public, through our effective use our marketing campaigns and communications channels.

This role connects with many areas of the MSC’s work. Your working week will be varied: one day you could be building and promoting a new campaign, the next you could be working in collaboration with one of our major brand partners on a co-marketing campaign.

It is incredible to see this important programme in action, and a great opportunity for anyone keen to translate this into digestible stories and content.

We’re looking for someone who has a real drive to connect with MSC colleagues and external stakeholders. You should be driven to get our important message out there and help people discover the wealth of engaging content that exists in our UK, Irish and global programme. We need:

  • a leader who will collaborate closely with colleagues within the UK & Ireland team (fisheries, commercial and marketing communications)
  • an agile and dynamic team player, who is as comfortable working solo on and leading a campaign as working on delivering our annual Sustainable Seafood.
  • someone who understands and appreciates the environmental landscape and be inspired by some of the feel-good aspects of sustainable fisheries.
