Coral Gardeners is a global organization with operations in French Polynesia, Fiji, and Thailand, on a mission to restore the world’s coral reefs by combining cutting-edge science with an unconventional, community-driven approach.
Under the supervision of the Chief Communications Officer, the Social Media Specialist executes and continuously improves Coral Gardeners' social media strategy across all channels. This role is key to telling the story of the reef and driving engagement around coral conservation.
This role currently reports directly to the CCO, within a growing team.
Execute and continuously improve the social media strategy; ideate and publish content across all social channels (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
Grow followers and engagement across social media to bring more people into the movement.
Handle community management across all platforms, monitoring conversations and engaging authentically with the community.
Proactively stay up to date with social media trends, algorithm changes, and industry best practices — and identify quick-turnaround opportunities.
Collaborate with the creative team to ensure cohesive execution of content.
Ensure all social media content is aligned with brand guidelines and visual identity.
Champion Coral Gardeners' tone of voice and craft engaging copy for social media content.
Develop performance reports with recommendations to optimize content and strategy, and share insights with the CCO.
Fluency in both English and French is mandatory.

This is a hybrid role, ideally based in French Polynesia or California. Candidates must be willing to travel to our Global Headquarters in Moorea for at least 2 months per year.
At least 3 years of proven work experience in social media.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
Passion for social media, digital trends, and content creation.
Excellent communication and copywriting skills in English.
Strong knowledge of social media platforms, algorithms, and analytics tools.
Knowledge of or passion for ocean conservation is a strong bonus.
