The Ocean unites us and our passion is to protect it. Coral Gardeners started in 2017 as a group of young surfers and fishermen coming together to save their home reef. We’re now made up of an international collective of scientists, engineers, creators, and advocates determined to save the reef by revolutionizing ocean conservation and generating collaborative action around the world. THE JOB
Coral Gardeners is seeking a Front-End/Web Development Engineer to develop and maintain our web-based applications, enhancing user experiences and supporting our ocean conservation initiatives. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Vue.js, Firebase, and database management, with a strong background in front-end design and e-commerce web applications.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing user-friendly web applications using Vue.js.
- Managing and integrating Firebase services for real-time data and authentication.
- Developing and maintaining our e-commerce platform to support our fundraising and merchandise sales.
- Ensuring seamless integration of front-end applications with various databases.
- Collaborating with our team of scientists, engineers, and creators to translate conservation needs into interactive and engaging web solutions.
- Optimizing web applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Maintaining code quality, organization, and automation.
WORK QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in front-end development with a focus on Vue.js.
- Strong knowledge of Firebase and its various services (Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Functions, etc.).
- Proficiency in database management and integration.
- Demonstrated success in developing and deploying e-commerce web applications.
- Familiarity with web application design principles and best practices.
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional team and translate non-technical needs into technical specifications.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French is a plus.
