SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST
OUR PROJECT
Coral Gardeners is a mission-driven startup, created in 2017 by a group of young surfers and fishermen from the island of Mo’orea who came together after witnessing the alarming degradation of their home reef.
Today, we are made up of an international collective of passionate individuals – gardeners, scientists, engineers, creators, and advocates – determined to revolutionize ocean conservation and create a global movement to save the world’s coral reefs.
THE JOB
Communication is one of our core missions to raise awareness about what’s happening in our ocean. Social Media is an essential part of how we communicate and connect our online community with coral conservation. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Social Media Specialist to join our team to help us tell the story of the reef worldwide.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and moderate all our social channels (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) to engage with our community, drive conversations, and address their concerns.
- Build and continuously develop our social channels to grow the brand and tap new followers into the movement.
- Proactively stay in the know with social media trends, algorithm changes, industry best practices, and be able to identify quick-turnaround opportunities.
- Strategically execute and innovate our editorial strategy and plan; publish and distribute content across all our social channels.
- Maintain and challenge standards for social media content in alignment with our brand guidelines.
- Champion our tone of voice to craft engaging copies for social media content.
- Develop performance reports to provide recommendations to optimize and adjust social content and strategy.
REQUIREMENTS
- Outstanding copywriting skills both in English and French.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field.
- Proven work experience in social media.
- Excellent knowledge of social media and proficiency with these platforms.
- Flexible schedule to attend to the on-demand nature of social media.
- Knowledge and experience in ocean conservation is a bonus.

CONDITIONS
Given the nature of our mission, we are looking for candidates who are genuinely interested in saving the reef.
- Start as soon as possible.
- Work location to be confirmed. It will either be in our HQ in Moorea, French Polynesia or remotely.
