COAST is seeking an Oceans Ecosystem Navigator who will be seconded to the Ocean Startup Project (OSP) on an annual basis to:
The OSP propels Canada as the top destination for ocean entrepreneurs, driving innovation across the ocean economy. The OSP mission is to transform Canada into a global hub where ocean startups can thrive, from inception to global market presence. Leveraging a network that includes Canada’s Ocean Supercluster, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, and partners from across the country, the OSP bolsters Canada’s innovation ecosystem for ocean-focused startups.
This is an exciting opportunity for a person looking to establish themselves in a growing and exciting sector. Both the OSP and COAST teams are small groups of dedicated people trying to make a difference. To be successful in this role, you should possess:
Flexible work arrangements are available as much of the work with the OSP will be remote. COAST has office facilities in Victoria, BC but the proponent can be based in any major centre along the British Columbia coast. In-Province travel is expected to conferences and events and some out of province / country travel may be required. On offer is an attractive remuneration package and exposure to the Canadian innovation/start-up sector.
In accordance with the BC Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $85,000 per year. Initially this will be a one-year contract position with the possibility of two further one-year extensions.
