Background
Established in 2013, Masyarakat dan Perikanan Indonesia (MDPI) is a leading national NGO dedicated to small-scale fisheries. Our mission is to empower coastal communities in Indonesia to actively participate in ecosystem and fisheries management, harness market opportunities, to improve the sustainability of their livelihoods. We envision a country with sustainable livelihoods in coastal communities and effective fisheries management. Sahabat Laut Lestari (SLL) as MDPI social enterprise, is a sustainable fishery implementer, focusing on ecological, social and economic aspect to support sustainable fisheries in Indonesia.
Summary of Position
This position is responsible for crafting compelling cooperation proposals that can bring significant benefit to both MDPI and SLL. The role also demands strong negotiation skills to ensure that all cooperation agreement terms are favorable to our organization. Besides, effective communication with project stakeholders is a crucial aspect of this position. In addition, this position is to develop mutually beneficial proposals, negotiate contract terms and communicate effectively with stakeholders, under supervision of MDPI board of executive, and works independently to initiate the plan, also to achieve specific agreed targets.
This position operates under the supervision of MDPI management but functions independently to strategically plan and achieve specific, predetermined targets with utmost precision and efficiency.
Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible for driving business growth within a social enterprise.
- Initiate in product development by analyzing pricing structure, market opportunities, and potential partners from a business perspective.
- Develop a network of contacts to attract new clients and improve product traction by providing a path to profit and business prospects.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new market opportunities and oversee growth projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new product offerings and improve existing ones.
- Making sales projections and forecasting revenue, in line with projected income. Track and report on sales performance and progress.
- Manage the specific Google Drive folders, ensuring that all documentation (contracts, proposals, reports) is stored and updated.
- Manage individual operations requests, including finance administration and HR administration.
- Undertake other assigned duties for the benefit of the organizations as per the supervisor’s request.
Experience and Skills Required
Essential Qualifications
- Indonesian Nationality preferably domiciles in Bali.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social sciences, development studies, or a relevant field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in business development and marketing in a company.
- Has proven excellent analytical skills and marketing skills.
- Has communication and interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, research and strategy, business intelligence, and networking.
Desired Qualifications
- Have an understanding about fisheries in Indonesia.
- Have an understanding about non-profit organizations and social enterprises.
- Familiar with technology-based enterprises/product.
