Position Summary:

Experienced business unit (BU) leader emphasizing revenue growth and strategic business development. The Telematics BU offers a range of satellite-based data telemetry solutions for wildlife monitoring, ocean science, smart agriculture, hydrology, forestry, climate change, herd, humanitarian, fisheries management, and related areas. Technologies include Argos, Kinéis, and Iridium satellites, related hardware, and value-added data display / management platforms. Must pursue government agency, industry, manufacturing partner, research, and non-profit clients for established and emerging products and services, and actively manage the sales team. The position also includes profit and loss, business planning, and operational management responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • BU team leadership and vision; goal- and growth-oriented
  • Strategic business development matching established and new technical offerings to emerging clients and markets (B2B with hardware partners, B2C with industrial, research, and non-profit users, and B2G with local and federal agencies)
  • Strategic cooperation with corporate partners at CLS France and global affiliates
  • Hands-on client engagement to sell current products and services, plus perform market research for emerging markets and applications
  • Implement professional sales management approach and systems
  • Business planning and forecasting, revenue growth, P&L responsibility

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage team of ~15 sales, technical, administrative, and customer service professionals

• Proven experience (~10+ years) in equivalent position, including technology revenue growth

• Exemplary leadership with ability to inspire and motivate teams

• Customer- and results-oriented, growing an organization

  • Initiative to lead a division and interact cross-functionally - internal and external

• Excellent communication and business development skills

• Self-motivated with ability to take initiative, prioritize, and be present with customers

  • Passion for the environment

• Thirst for technology including satellite applications is an asset

  • Proficient with MS Office 365 applications; general ERP and CRM experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field; technology education or training is a plus

Physical Requirements:

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The work is performed primarily in an office environment and involves use of computers and other office equipment. Normal work schedule (40 hours/week) during office hours of 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday. This position may be called upon to work outside of established hours to satisfy a particular job requirement, for travel, and to support customers in different time zones.

TRAVEL:

The job requires local, national and international travel, occasionally involving weekends. Travel is estimated between 10-20% of workdays annually. Includes North America region, and collaboration with CLS international partners.
