Founded in 2018 by Emily Charry Tissier, Antoine Gagne-Turcotte, and Bertrand Charry, Whale Seeker has one goal in mind: to bridge the divide between profitability and sustainability by making whale detection fast, accurate, and accessible. We believe that technology has the power to help whales and humans not only coexist, but thrive - so we're building the tools to make that possible. Today, our hybrid solutions use human expertise, proprietary AI and aerial imagery to deliver quick, high-quality analysis for marine mammal detection projects of all sizes. By providing superior monitoring technology, we help organizations comply with regulatory or value-driven sustainability objectives. Our data also supports marine regulation compliance, improves bottom lines, strengthens environmental impact assessments, and ultimately - protects whales. But sustainability doesn't stop at our solutions. As an organization, we know that business can be a powerful force for good, so we're proudly a certified B Corp. That means we value respect, inclusion, transparency, rigour and creativity. We also value evidence, collaboration and progress, so we set objectives and measure our impact based on 10 of the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. When developing our AI technology, we abide by the Montreal Declaration for a Responsible Development of Artificial Intelligence - an AI development and deployment framework that aims to be ethical, inclusive, equitable, and ecologically sustainable.
