ABOUT TIRRC
The Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC) is a statewide, immigrant and refugee-led collaboration. Our mission is to build power, amplify our voices, and organize communities to advocate for our rights. Our vision is a stronger, more inclusive Tennessee where people of all nationalities, immigration statuses, and racial identities can belong and thrive.
TIRRC has a sister organization, TIRRC Votes, a separate nonprofit organization that is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Although TIRRC and TIRRC Votes share a common goal of building power for immigrants and refugees in Tennessee, they are separate organizations with their own board of directors. Certain employees at the two organizations, including the person filling this position, share their time between the two organizations.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director and as a core member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Senior Director of Powerbuilding ensures that TIRRC’s campaigns and communications are strategic, impactful, and effective in building collective power with the communities we serve. This role will be part of casting a bold vision for campaigns that build the power needed to challenge authoritarian threats to our communities, and is responsible for translating that vision into high quality implementation by aligning goals with team capacity as the supervisor of the organizing, advocacy, and communications teams. In partnership with the senior leadership team, the Senior Director of Powerbuilding helps articulate and execute a vision that strengthens TIRRC’s impact, builds grassroots power, and advances policy and systems change.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
