Ulysses is a technology company on a mission to steward the ocean for an abundant future. We're developing revolutionary autonomous underwater drones, robotics and AI systems to tackle critical challenges in ocean conservation and coastal security. Our innovative platform combines low-cost drones, advanced AI, high persistence, and robotics to transform how we monitor and protect our oceans. Our first product line is a suite of autonomous drones that makes restoring seagrass ecosystems cheaper and easier. We are currently working with governments in the US and Australia and leading environmental groups like The Nature Conservancy. We are a seed-stage company backed by top VCs like Lowercarbon Capital, Superorganism and ReGen Ventures.
About the Role
We're seeking an exceptional GTM Principal to join our founding team and drive Ulysses' GTM strategy and revenue growth. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious, entrepreneurial individual to shape the direction of a high-growth, deep-tech startup (nearly $1m in revenue in our first year), giving mankind dominion over our oceans and enabling active stewardship. You'll work directly with our founder, Will, to bring new products to market, scale existing products, develop go-to-market strategies, and source and close multi-million dollar deals with environmental groups, defense/security organizations and government agencies.
What You'll Do
- Work with our co-founder Will to:
- Drive sales in our existing seagrass restoration business.
- Accelerate our journey to product-market fit with some new products by working to deeply understand customer needs and inform product development.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve $3M+ in revenue in 2025.
- Own top-of-funnel sales activities, including lead generation, outreach, and work with
Will on closing deals in our existing seagrass restoration business.

- You’ve direct experience in selling to government agencies and/or businesses.
- You obsess over new ways to scale a business and unlock growth, and you’re constantly thinking of different levers and tactics to experiment and validate.
- You're comfortable with a high degree of autonomy and can manage multiple priorities.
- You're an exceptional communicator and relationship builder, and you're comfortable selling to C-level executives and government officials.
- You have a track record of high performance in fast-paced, results-driven environments.
- You're intellectually curious and can quickly become an expert in new domains.
- You believe in humanity’s capability to create a beautiful and abundant future and want to work on enabling this.
- You take your work seriously and want to work with a team of A-players on deeply important and noble pursuits, not some boring SaaS tool.
Nice to Haves
- Founder or early employee experience at a successful startup.
- You’ve either built or been a core part of building out a successful GTM process in a venture-backed startup.
- You have direct experience selling to government agencies like NOAA, the US Coast Guard, and the Navy or their international equivalents.
- Background in oceanography, marine biology, ocean conservation or related maritime fields.
