Turtle Island Restoration Network is a non-profit organization that focuses on the protection of marine wildlife and the oceans and inland watersheds that sustain them. The organization mobilizes local communities around the world to participate in their mission. They work towards the prevention of extinction and suffering of marine species such as sea turtles, whales, and salmon. They also run the Salmon Protection And Watershed Network (SPAWN) which was initiated in 1997. Their sea turtle action center in Galveston, Texas works to protect sea turtles, sharks, marine mammals, and seabirds from threats like industrial overfishing.
