Plastic Bank is looking for a talented, passionate, and self-driven UI designer that wants to work in a purpose-driven company. If hired; you will be required to leverage your skills and expertise to generate wireframes, prototypes, and documentation to create the best possible interfaces for our users using our design system. You will need to be an expert in Figma as it is our primary design software, and be experienced collaborating using Confluence and Jira. This position is remote, and will be managed by our Head of Design in Vancouver, Canada. Additionally you will be working as part of a global tech team of BAs, QAs, and Developers in an agile SCRUM environment. Ideally you are located near the UTC−08:00 or UTC+07:00 time zones to accommodate collaboration with these teams.
You must be comfortable in multi-project situations: running projects with minimal supervision, contributing in a sprint-based environment, and advocating for your design decisions. You will be expected to be an expert of mobile and web design - pushing our design system forward while maintaining our library across multiple products. You will also need to advocate for and implement accessibility principles given our variety in our users’ literacy, tech-capability, and cultures. English fluency is a prerequisite.

Primary Duties:
- Creating wireframes from project briefs
- Producing hi-fi mockups and prototypes for presentation, testing, and development
- Utilizing design system components and consulting the Lead on new elements
- Documenting interface edge-cases and requirements for developers
- Understanding trends and experimenting with different forms of user-centric design and pushing the team to adopt worthwhile new trends
Requirements:
- Expert of interface design
- Expert in using Figma for designing, prototyping, and collaborating
- A portfolio of professional UI design work for both mobile and web applications
- SCRUM experience working with other designers and developers
- Experienced working in a remote, self-governed team setting
- Fluent in English
Bonus points:
- Passionate about social development and/or environmental conservation
- Knowledgeable about designing for multicultural, low-literacy, and/or low-tech users
- Experienced in building gamification mechanics
- An interactive design skillset
