Hours: 18.5 hours per week

The role

The MBA Data Team is seeking to support its technical development work and is looking for an innovative Junior Data Engineer to maintain and develop scripts and workflows to support effective biodiversity archiving and publication.

This position will work alongside the MBA Data Team, supporting the record breaking Continuous Plankton Recorder Survey (CPR Survey) and helping to deliver DASSH, the UK Archive for Marine Species and Habitats Data and accredited node of the Ocean Biodiversity Information System (OBIS). The successful applicant will have proven ability in the manipulation of data using scripts and databases.

Salary and benefits

  • 30 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata)
  • 3 Privilege Days given by the MBA (used during festive closure week) pro-rata
  • Pension scheme – the MBA will contribute 10% of basic salary into a defined contribution scheme with staff making a 3% minimum contribution. The MBA will match additional employee contributions up to an additional 5%.
