About Us:

The MBA is a Learned Society of scientists and members in over forty countries, across five continents. Celebrating our 140th year since our establishment, the MBA is one of the world’s oldest research laboratories working as a voice for the ocean in the interests of the global marine biological community. We aspire to be a career destination for the next generation of marine biologists.

We are seeking up to 3 new Trustees to join the MBA Council (Board of Trustees), starting in December 2024.
