Job Summary
The Center for Sustainable Development is actively seeking a Sustainability Teacher with a specialty in Aquaponics to join the Food Security Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Co-manage the 3,000 square foot Aquaponics Facility with the Aquaponics Technician.
- Develop and deliver lesson plans on aquaponics, and food security to students ranging from primary school to college level curriculum.
- Co-advise the Island School research course.
- Work with the Sustainability team on delivering internal projects.
- Promote and develop local business connections and partnerships that lead to growth of sustainable industries on Eleuthera.

Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Every member of the team is an educator and a spokesperson for the Organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aquaculture, Aquaponics, or demonstrated practical experience of equal value in a related field.
- Ability to live in a small, remote location. Work and live in an intentional community.
- Professional demeanour and desire to work on an ecologically friendly campus.

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience
- 2+ years of project management experience.
Communication Skills

Schedule
This is a full-time position with annual review. The Cape Eleuthera Island School and its related entities operate year round and working hours vary depending on needs but are typically Monday-Friday (40 hours/week), however, evening and weekend work will be required from time to time. Special events will require periods of time outside of normal working hours when staff must be on site for extended periods. The successful candidate should expect, and desire to work a variable and mission driven schedule.
