Founded in 1990, the Bay Islands Conservation Association (BICA) is a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to conserving the coastal marine resources and ecosystems of the Bay Islands in Honduras. With over 30 years of experience, BICA operates through three chapters located on Utila, Roatan, and Guanaja, and has recently expanded to Tampa, FL. The organization focuses on environmental education, community development, protection, and research & monitoring, and has established strategic alliances with various universities and organizations to enhance its conservation efforts. BICA's mission is to engage communities in sustainable practices while promoting biodiversity and protecting fragile ecosystems, positioning itself as a leader in marine conservation in the region.
