SWEN Capital Partners is seeking to reinforce its SWEN Blue Ocean team by hiring a Principal (F/M) in its Paris office. SWEN Blue Ocean invests in innovations that help regenerate ocean health and achieve SDG14, with the aim to deliver both systemic impact and competitive market returns. The team launched the Blue Ocean fund in September 2021 at the IUCN's World Conservation Congress, in scientific partnership with Ifremer, France's leading ocean science institute. The fund invests in solutions to overfishing, solutions to ocean pollution and marine solutions to climate change. Blue Ocean currently has a size of EUR 116 million and was recognized as one of the top 40 European Impact PE funds by Real Deal and PER. The investment strategy focuses on Series A investments, mainly in Europe.

Main responsibilities: • Support the SWEN Blue Ocean team across its duties, including: o Dealflow generation and analysis (sourcing of investment opportunities) o Investment execution (in support of deal lead, conduct impact and business diligence, prepare investment memorandums, negotiation, monitoring, exit) Our “Raison d’être”: As promoters of Responsible Investment, our “raison d’être” is based on a long-term vision driven by purpose and a threefold goal: • Create sustainable value by fully incorporating social and environmental criteria into our actions, close to the areas we serve. • Be a responsible company that is committed to fairly sharing the value created among all stakeholders, shareholders, clients, employees, and business partners. • Promote human relationships to stimulate initiatives and excellence. It does not operate independently of the challenges of todays and tomorrow’s world, and acts for a sustainable, more inclusive society. o Intelligence (conduct ocean impact research, market studies) o Strategy (support lead in contributing to ocean innovation ecosystem building)

Required skills: • Minimum of 5 years of work experience, including in strategy consulting, innovation or finance. • Masters Degree, science or engineering degree valued. • Strong analytical and quantitative skills. • Passionate about the environment and motivated to regenerate ocean health. • Team player and solid interpersonal skills. • International and multicultural experience. • Fluent English, native is a plus

The Principal will report to Christian Lim and Olivier Raybaud, Managing Directors of the SWEN Blue Ocean team and will work with the entire team, composed of six investment professionals as of today.
