Consultant to Support Global Squid Supply Chain Roundtable Coordination

Remote, Remote, Remote

Background

Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP) operates globally through its Global Fisheries Program to rebuild depleted fish stocks and reduce the environmental and social impacts of fishing and aquaculture. By engaging fishery stakeholders and seafood businesses, SFP works across different levels of the supply chain to mobilize industry support for fisheries improvements.

SFP’s Supply Chain Roundtables (SRs) provide a collaborative platform for major buyers and importers in specific seafood sectors to work together pre-competitively, amplifying individual efforts to achieve global impact. This approach boosts sustainability performance and enhances human well-being.

The Consultant will serve as a coordinator to support the management of the Global Squid SR by leveraging expertise in project coordination, fisheries management, and seafood markets. The consultant will ensure effective SR operations, stakeholder engagement, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Operational and Secretariat Support:
    • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate SR meetings and webinars, including pre-meeting preparations, attendance, and post-meeting follow-ups.
    • Manage logistics and liaise with SR members, ensuring efficient communication and documentation sharing.
  2. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
    • Develop a methodology to track SR progress and assess impact.
    • Prepare the SR strategy progress report in Q1 2026 summarizing achievements and progress for the past three years.
    • Enhance SR visibility through the maintenance and regular updates of its website, with a focus on the IUU resource library.
  3. Technical & Stakeholder Engagement Support:
    • Assist in new project development, including stakeholder engagement and supply chain mapping.
    • Conduct research and online literature reviews to support the development of technical briefings, strategic planning, and program implementation.
  4. Other Duties as Assigned:
    • Perform additional tasks related to the successful execution of SR objectives.
    • Organize and provide support for meetings and events at seafood trade shows and other relevant industry gatherings.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Background in fisheries management, seafood markets, or project coordination.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and industry best practices in fisheries and seafood sourcing.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and supply chain analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a global, cross-cultural setting.
  • Proficiency in English is required; fluency in additional languages (such as French or Spanish) is highly desirable.

The contract term is for 12 months at 50% LOE (20 hours/week) and will be paid on a monthly basis at USD $1,500.00 a month, for a total value of not to exceed USD $18,000.00. The position may be renewed for up to four (4) years.
