Subnero specializes in underwater communication and positioning technology, designing mission-critical hardware and software that operate from shallow waters to 6,000 meters depth. We build integrated systems where hardware, software, and the human operator are a cohesive whole. This role starts as owner of mechanical and industrial design and can grow into a Product Owner role as you learn our products, customers, and market.As a Mechanical and Product Designer you will: design subsea products (rated to 6 km) from concept to qualified hardware; design topside products; apply an industrial design lens; design for manufacture and excellence (DFM/DFE) from the start; select materials and design sealing/connector interfaces and prove housings via structural analysis; engage vendors early; own CAD and documentation (STEP, GA drawings, production/assembly instructions); run configuration management; own internal/external testing including pressure tests; own products long-term; and develop for upcoming lines (e.g., diver devices). You will thrive if you have 4–5 years of mechanical design with products taken to production; experience managing multiple devices/variants; DFM/DFE and industrial design experience (consumer electronics a plus); fluency in CAD and documentation; FEA a strong advantage; lifecycle and revision management experience; comfort engaging vendors; an industrial design eye; marine/subsea/pressure-rated experience a plus; and a mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
