Who We Are
Seven Clean Seas is an ocean-impact social enterprise dedicated to combating plastic pollution while fostering sustainable livelihoods. We build ocean impact projects, empower communities, and work with organisations to tackle upstream plastic consumption through consultancy, circularity, and technical solutions. As part of this mission, we established the Maritime Association for Clean Seas (MACS), a Seven Clean Seas initiative that brings together the maritime industry to accelerate plastic reduction, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
We are looking for a Programme Associate to help grow the Maritime Association for Clean Seas (MACS), supporting its technical programmes, member engagement, and industry initiatives.
The Role:
As a Programme Associate for the Maritime Association for Clean Seas, you will be instrumental in the delivery and growth of MACS by coordinating member servicing, working group activity, technical outputs, commercial follow-up, and external communications. The role is designed to absorb execution-heavy workstreams, improve delivery consistency, and free up senior team capacity for sales, partnerships, and strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
1.0 Member & Partner Management
- Coordinate and support member & partner communications and engagements.
- Follow-up on bespoke member & partner requests.
- Project manage additional member services, including CSR activations, plastic credit issuance, Seven Clean Seas merchandise, and marketing & comms support.
- Help track member and partner deliverables and commitments.
2.0 Working Groups & Industry Engagement
- Coordinate working group meetings, including scheduling, logistics, and follow-up
- Support in preparation of agendas, slides, background materials, and briefing notes
- Support survey design, distribution, and response tracking
- Coordinate industry roundtable planning, invitations, and supporting materials
- Track actions, technical inputs, and next steps arising from working groups and stakeholder engagements
3.0 Technical Content & Guidance
- Conduct literature reviews and desk-based research to support MACS outputs
- Support data collection, analysis, and synthesis of member feedback
- Draft reports, summaries, annexes, and other written deliverables
- Help translate discussion outputs into practical recommendations and structured content
- Support case study development and member data collection
4.0 Commercial & Pipeline Support
- Support follow-up with prospects and partners after meetings and events
- Help track pipeline actions and opportunity progression
- Assist with proposal drafting, pitch materials, and tailored follow-up communications
- Support sales-related event preparation and post-event actions
5.0 Marketing, Communications & Brand Visibility
- Support the development of blog articles and written content
- Coordinate event collateral and supporting communications
- Assist with event agenda development and planning
- Support Annual Summit planning and coordination
- Help maintain high-quality external-facing materials for MACS
6.0 Internal Coordination & Delivery Support
- Support internal planning, action tracking, and coordination across workstreams
- Help maintain workflow visibility across ongoing priorities and deadlines
- Prepare updates and materials for internal meetings where needed
- Ensure deliverables are organised, tracked, and progressed on time
Requirements:
- Education: Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Maritime, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 2 - 3 years of experience in sustainability or relevant industries, ideally including skills in project coordination, stakeholder management, or programme support (preferably within a start-up or scale-up environment).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Team Work: Proven experience in working in multi-cultural and collaborative teams.
- Technical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong technical reasoning skills.
- Commercial Acumen: A strong commercial mindset with a passion for scalable impact and operational efficiency.
- Bonus Qualifications: Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and methodologies such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), the GHG Protocol, or CDP reporting.
