Who we are
Seven Clean Seas builds Ocean Impact Projects and empowers communities to turn the tide on plastic pollution. We work with businesses and individuals to co-create sustainability initiatives following the Measure, Reduce, Offset and Engage framework. A large part of what we do is engaging with businesses to engage employees in the plastic pollution issue.
We are seeking an experienced Sustainability Consultant and Project Manager to join our Consultancy team and work with our clients to develop and implement strategies that reduce their plastic usage and promote circularity. The consultant will be responsible for the delivery of client-facing projects centered around plastic footprint and ESG. This candidate will work closely with the Business Development team to create new business opportunities and identify solutions to scale our services. To add dynamism and flexibility, the candidate will also be responsible for supporting additional demands and other departments. This position requires an effective team leader with excellent communication skills, strong project management skills, and a deep understanding of sustainability principles and practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create compelling and tailored proposals for clients, showcasing innovative sustainability strategies that align with their specific needs and challenges.
- Facilitate ideation workshops and meetings with clients to understand their sustainability goals and challenges and translate these into tangible solutions.
- Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, best practices, and emerging sustainability policies and regulations to incorporate these insights into proposals and consulting services.
- Project manage large consultancy projects, being the main point of contact between the client and Seven Clean Seas and being responsible for successful project delivery.
- Find opportunities to diversify Seven Clean Seas' service offerings in a manner that adds scalability within the Consultancy Department.
- Manage and integrate into a team of highly competent and passionate sustainability analysts and consultants.
- Represent Seven Clean Seas in industry stakeholder events and find opportunities to promote our knowledge base.
- Assist in creating marketing and sales materials, including tool kits, case studies, guides, and blogs to increase inbound business development opportunities.
- Facilitate educational workshops and focus group activities for organisations in an engaging and motivating manner.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
We are looking for an experienced candidate who will be able to bring industry and business knowledge to our already talented team. This candidate must have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in sustainability, environmental engineering and environmental science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in sustainability consulting, focusing on plastic reduction and waste reduction strategies and circularity.
- Experience in management roles, leading a team of experts.
- Experience in a Business Development role or handling similar sales responsibilities.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should demonstrate abilities to excel in a high-performance start-up company. As such, an ideal candidate further possesses the following abilities:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to create actionable plans for clients based on their needs and pain points.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex sustainability concepts to various audiences.
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and local waste management practices and legislations.
- Passion for sustainability and a deep commitment to making a positive impact on the environment.
