Position Summary
This is an executive level Business to Business food products sales position. The Business Development Manager develops and maintains profitable business relationships with Corporate Level Buyers in the retail, food service, industrial and institutional channels of the food industry primarily in North America.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute effective sales plans and strategies for the marketing of specialty surimi seafood products, a new line of plant-based seafood products and a new product line in development.
- Manage existing accounts and develop new client accounts.
- Collaborate with senior management and marketing staff to develop marketing plans, including media and promotional strategy, tactics and collateral
- Participate in corporate headquarters sales presentations, trade shows and end-user presentations.
- Provides senior management with status, performance and budget reports.
- Achieve product and brand distribution goals.
- Identifying growth opportunities for our established brands and for our pipeline new products.
- Enthusiastic representation of the brand at product demos, corporate events and trade shows.
- Clear visibility of account status and your account development efforts through diligent maintenance of our CRM platform.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Quantifiable Business to Business sales experience and ability
- A professional corporate image and demeanor
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Digitally literate and administratively self sufficient
- Able to travel at short notice to address customer needs and concerns
- Speak, read and write English
Desirable Training and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in customer packaged goods (CPG) sales, including field and headquarter experience.
- Experience working with buyers, category managers, and other decision makers in the Grocery channel is greatly valued.
- Previous corporate level Business to Business sales experience.
- Experience garnering and conducting high level meetings (Manager to C-suite)
- Experience and training in the food industry with emphasis on sales and distribution.
Compensation
- The current average compensation for this role within our organization is $120,000-$140,000 per year, with no commission cap.
