Position Overview:

The Regional Seafood Sales Manager - Foodservice is responsible for leading and managing the sales activities specifically within the foodservice sector across the Eastern Division of the US. This includes developing sales strategies, building and maintaining relationships with foodservice clients such as multi-unit regional chains, broadline companies such as US Foods / Sysco, and regional seafood distributors while achieving sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in foodservice sales management, in-depth knowledge of seafood products, and exceptional client management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement regional sales strategies tailored to the foodservice sector to achieve business objectives and sales targets.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape within the foodservice industry to identify growth opportunities.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and budgets for the region.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key foodservice clients, including national accounts, multi-unit regional chains, broadline companies such as US Foods / Sysco, and regional seafood distributors.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms of sale tailored to the unique needs of the foodservice industry.
  • Address client inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.

Sales Operations:

  • Oversee daily sales operations within the region, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions as needed to meet targets.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and food safety standards.

Product Knowledge and Promotion:

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of seafood products, including sourcing, quality, preparation methods, and sustainability practices.
  • Develop and implement promotional activities and sales campaigns targeted at the foodservice sector.
  • Educate clients and sales teams about product features, benefits, and best practices specific to foodservice applications.

Market Expansion:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the foodservice sector.
  • Expand the customer base and market reach within the region.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to launch new seafood products and solutions for the foodservice industry.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular sales reports and presentations for senior management.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop action plans based on sales performance and market analysis.

Supplier and Inventory Management:

  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the availability of high-quality seafood products.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage stock to meet customer demand and minimize waste.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sales management within the foodservice industry, preferably with a focus on seafood.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth in the foodservice sector.
  • Strong knowledge of seafood products, foodservice market dynamics, and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and develop actionable strategies.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the region.
