Save The Bay’s Hamilton Family Aquarium, Newport, R.I.

SCHEDULE:

Part-time, Year-round

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Save The Bay is hiring part-time Front Desk Associates for the brand new Hamilton Family Aquarium in Newport. The Front Desk Associate will primarily be responsible for greeting visitors, processing admissions, membership and merchandise sales, answering questions via phone, email, and in-person, and completing opening/closing administrative reports and procedures – all while maintaining the highest level of warm and helpful customer service. The ideal candidate is friendly, flexible, and comfortable working in a busy, dynamic environment with diverse visitors and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ years of experience in customer service in high-activity environments.
  • 1+ years of experience with Point of Sale systems (knowledge of Square is a plus) and cash handling.
  • Must be comfortable with technology and learning new systems (ex. email, Point of Sale system, online databases, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills required. Must be outgoing and have a positive personality.
  • Excellent time management skills and dependability
  • Weekend & evening hours required.
  • Comfortable sitting and standing for long periods of time.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
  • Spanish or other multilingual skills a plus.
  • A criminal background check is required.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

$16 per hour
