Save The Bay’s Hamilton Family Aquarium, Newport, R.I.

SCHEDULE:

Part-time, Year-round

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Save the Bay is hiring part-time Front Desk Associates for the brand-new Hamilton Family Aquarium in Newport. The Front Desk Associate will primarily be responsible for greeting visitors, processing admissions, membership and merchandise sales, answering questions via phone, email, and in-person, and completing opening/closing administrative reports and procedures – all while maintaining the highest level of warm and helpful customer service. The ideal candidate is friendly, flexible, and comfortable working in a busy, dynamic environment with diverse visitors and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ years of experience in customer service in high-activity environments.
  • 1+ years of experience with Point of Sale systems (knowledge of Square is a plus) and cash handling.
  • Must be comfortable with technology and learning new systems (ex. email, Point of Sale system, online databases, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills required. Must be outgoing and have a positive personality.
  • Excellent time management skills and dependability.
  • Weekend & evening hours required.
  • Comfortable sitting and standing for long periods of time.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
  • Spanish or other multilingual skills a plus.
  • A criminal background check is required.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

$16 per hour
