Save The Bay’s Hamilton Family Aquarium is launching an Aquarist Fellow program, developed to provide on-the-job training in aquaria sciences and environmental conservation and education while providing assistance in the Aquarium’s daily operations. This fellowship offers the opportunity for participants to build a foundation for a career in aquaria sciences, marine biology, and/or environmental education by participating in all aspects of running a hands-on aquarium and educating the public about the ecology of Narragansett Bay. We have two, grant-funded, full-time (35-40 hrs./week) 12-month positions available from January 2, 2025 – December 31, 2025. Fellow positions will be based out of Save The Bay’s Hamilton Family Aquarium in Newport, RI.
This is a 12-month position (January 2, 2025 – December 31, 2025) funded through the Institute for Museum and Library Services Museums for America grant program (MA-252839-OMS-23). Funding for each Aquarium Fellow is capped at $30,000.
