This individual will work sporadically with the Pacific Islands Regional Office (PIRO) Protected Resources Division to support stranding responses to live and dead animals in the field and in NOAA facilities on Oahu, and to assist with associated data collection, data management, and administrative support.
This work is part-time with very limited hours – the intention is that this individual will cover the hours that our primary technician is not available, so estimated hours are anywhere from 2 – 10 hours per pay period. All work will be conducted in Oahu. Some field work is required, and other work will be conducted at the NOAA Inouye Regional Center (IRC) on Ford Island, Honolulu. Physically conducting work at the IRC is generally not required, except during on‐site necropsies or related activities. The contractor will be on-call to cover the stranding response hotline, respond to stranding events and perform other tasks as required. Hours of coverage are on an “on-call” basis, up to and including 7 days per week, from approximately 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Work at earlier or later times of day may be required.
We are looking for someone who is a leader, self-motivated, has experience responding to stranding events, and is detail-oriented and able to manage databases. Below are the duties and requirements for this position.

Salary range is $29 – $31 per hour.
