The Romberg Tiburon Center for Environmental Studies is San Francisco State University’s marine and estuarine field station. Located on 36 waterfront acres on the Tiburon Peninsula in Marin County, it is the only academic research and teaching facility located on the shores of San Francisco Bay.\r\nOur mission is to illuminate the vital connections between, science, society, and the sea. \r\nSF State faculty and scientists in 13 independent yet collaborative laboratories conduct research and train the next generation of scientists in a variety of scientific disciplines. Environmental research is conducted in San Francisco Bay and around the world, from Alaska to the Amazon to Antarctica.
