Puget Sound Restoration Fund (PSRF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring marine habitats, recovering native species, and improving water quality in Puget Sound. For more than 25 years, through science, community, and in-water actions, PSRF's dedicated team of ecologists and technicians have played a vital role working to rebuild this vast coastal ecosystem. PSRF operates the Kenneth K. Chew Center for Shellfish Research and Restoration in collaboration with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This conservation hatchery and kelp laboratory, located at NOAA’s Manchester Research Station, is focused on recovering native species that have lost breeding populations, maintaining genetic diversity, and researching effects of changing seawater conditions. PSRF’s Port Madison Community Shellfish Farm, located on the pristine Bloedel Reserve tidelands on Bainbridge Island, is a small, volunteer-supported farm designed to restore and maintain healthy shellfish growing areas, spur cleanup efforts, and connect locals to the benefits of a healthy watershed through its CSA program.
