The Washington State Financial Education Public-Private Partnership (FEPPP) seeks a Secondary Program Supervisor to join the FEPPP team. This full-time, permanent position is based in Olympia, Washington. During onboarding, employees are required to work in-person five (5) days per week. After onboarding, the position requires at least three (3) days per week in the office, with up to two (2) telework days, with the possibility of additional telework days based on business needs and supervisor approval. About FEPPP
In 2009, the Legislature passed SHB 1347 to extend the efforts of Financial Literacy Public-Private Partnership (FLPPP), and to create the Financial Education Public-Private Partnership (FEPPP). The committee unites individuals from both the public and private sector to provide quality financial education for students in the public school system. FEPPP continues the work of


  • Identifying strategies to increase the financial education of students;
  • Providing quality financial education information for school districts, and;
  • Providing financial education instructional materials and professional development.

FEPPP Goals

  • Communicate to school districts the Washington State K–12 Standards for Financial Education and strategies for expanding the provision and increasing the quality of financial education instruction;
  • Review continuously the financial education curriculum, including instructional materials and programs available to school districts;
  • Develop evaluation standards and a procedure for endorsing financial education curriculum that should be recommended for use in the school districts;
  • Identify assessments and outcome measures to determine whether students have met the Washington State K–12 Standards for Financial Education;
  • Monitor and provide guidance for educators to integrate financial skills and content knowledge into mathematics, social studies, and other course studies;
  • Create professional development that could lead to certificate endorsement or other certification of competency in financial education;
  • Develop academic guidelines and standard protocols for use by classroom volunteers delivering financial education to students in the public school system; and
  • Provide annual reports to the governor, the superintendent of public instruction, and the committees of the legislature with oversight over K-12 education and higher education.

Position Overview

The FEPPP Program Supervisor is an exempt position reporting to the FEPPP Executive Director. The Program Supervisor provides technical support for financial education professional development for Washington state educators grades 612 and district administrative staff. Helping district and staff identify available resources and solutions to meeting needs of all students in reaching increased knowledge about the importance and value of financial education.

In addition, this position will provide input and assist the Executive Director in meeting the Mission, Vision, and Goals of the FEPPP Board. This position also works with FEPPP partners such as financial institutions, legislators, associations, and other state agencies. This position is required to consider and maintain compliance of legislative responsibilities and state policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent FEPPP with partners, ESDs, Districts and educators during statewide professional development and presentations.
  • Work with FEPPP staff to implement teacher financial education trainings for grades 6-12.
  • Deliver presentations representing FEPPP, i.e. State and national conferences, associations, and partners.
  • Provide technical assistance and suggest resources to schools and school districts. This includes working with counselors in support of programs.
  • Support the development and implementation of professional development models to train FEPPP Fellows and Washington state educators to integrate financial education resources and/or materials into current curriculum.
  • Convey to school districts the financial education standards adopted under RCW 28A.300.462, other important financial education skills and content knowledge, and strategies for expanding the provision and increasing the quality of financial education instruction.
  • Review on an ongoing basis financial education curriculum that is available to school districts, including instructional materials and programs, online instructional materials and resources, and school-wide programs that include the important financial skills and content knowledge.
  • Identify and analyze industry trends and educational needs and articulate how financial education supports student success in modern K–12 classrooms.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, finance, economics, or other closely related accreditation.
  • Three (3) years K12 work experience, preferably teaching finance or economics grades 6-12. NOTE: Experience may substitute for Education on a year for year basis, minimum 7 yrs experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using applied and contextual teaching methods, including integrating academic content into curriculum
  • Demonstrated experience delivering presentations or trainings, including experience presenting to adult learners
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholder groups, including legislators
  • Demonstrated evidence of teamwork at school, district, regional or state level
  • Experience working with multiple racial/ethnic and socioeconomic groups
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Must reside in the state of Washington

Desired Qualifications:
  • Education background: grade 612 teaching certificate
  • Educational program supervisor experience
  • Financial/economic or related teaching experience
  • Knowledge of the diverse nature of school districts in Washington state, and the impact on program needs
  • Experience participating on statewide committees, projects, or pilots

Compensation
The annual compensation for the position is $85,000–$95,000 per year and depends upon experience, educational background and qualifications. Washington State offers a generous benefit package including health, dental and life insurance, retirement and an optional deferred compensation program. This position serves at the pleasure of the Executive Director of Financial Education Public-Private Partnership (FEPPP) and is Civil Service Exempt. This position is not represented by a bargaining unit.
