Potomac Riverkeeper Network is an environmental nonprofit that defends clean water in the Potomac and Shenandoah River watersheds. The organization operates three Riverkeeper programs focused on the Potomac, Upper Potomac, and Shenandoah rivers. It conducts water quality monitoring, compliance sweeps, and pollution investigations to identify threats to drinking water, recreation, and aquatic life. Potomac Riverkeeper Network uses grassroots advocacy and litigation under the Clean Water Act to hold polluters and government agencies accountable. It also provides public resources on swimming and fish consumption safety, organizes cleanups and events, and offers educational presentations for community members, schools, and policymakers.
