Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill up to two part-time (15-20 hours per week) student Office Aides for the Family Resource Center (FRC) at Oregon State University. The FRC Student Office Aide is administrative support and front desk reception. The positions focus is creating a welcoming environment, providing prompt communications to students/employees accessing the FRC, supporting office staff, and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.
Within the Division of Student Affairs, the Family Resource Center supports and advocates for employees and students with dependent care needs. The FRC offers a variety of programs and resources to advance the academic, personal, and professional growth and success of all parenting and caregiving OSU community members.

Position Duties
General Family Resource Center (center) support:
  • Meet and greet drop-in office traffic
  • Answering FRC main phone line
  • Responding to or distributing emails in the general FRC inbox
  • Performs opening and closing tasks of the FRC (i.e. trash, recycling, vacuuming, etc.)
  • Files information (electronically and paper)
  • Photocopies documents
  • Assists with invoice processing
  • Scheduling meetings
  • Basic client resource and referral
  • Assists with special events hosted by the FRC
  • Conduct outreach to OSU peer institutions and other institutes of higher education regarding data collection and comprehensive benchmarking specific to similar programs and services offered by FRC and the University.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
  • Prior experience in an office environment with general office duties
  • Reliable and dependable with a consistent work ethic
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled in multi-tasking and effective time management
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team

  • Experience working with children and families
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
