Position Summary	This recruitment will be used to fill six part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Outreach Assistant for the Reser Center for Creative Arts at Oregon State University (OSU). The Event and Program Facilitator is a public-facing role that interacts with a range of clients and patrons including but not limited to visiting artists, VIPs, rental clients, concertgoers, university students and k-12 students. The person in this role understands the importance of creating a welcoming environment and experience for all PRAx guests and collaborators. The Event and Program Facilitator will be trained on and assigned to the following shifts: Artist and Speaker Hospitality Event Monitoring Outreach and Interpretation Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Required Dress Code: Business Casual unless otherwise directed by a supervisor.

Position Duties	Upon completion of training, the Event and Program Facilitator will be assigned to shifts in the following areas and will report to managers in those areas for daily supervision. Artist and Speaker Hospitality: Review daily notes and instructions for artist/ speaker hospitality. Greet and introduce guests to stage crew and other members of the PRAx front of house or back of house teams as appropriate. May correspond with PRAx Drivers or tour managers for arrival updates and delays and inform stage manager accordingly. Prepare dressing rooms and green rooms for guests according to instructions, including ensuring catering is set appropriately and/or equipping rooms with any special items. Make coffee, set table, set out food, stock and restock snacks and beverages. Clean, prepare and reset greenrooms and dressing rooms. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory of supplies in green, dressing, laundry rooms, and other spaces. Notify supervisor if supplies are running low. Be attentive to and ensure artist/ speaker needs are met. This includes but is not limited to: providing stage towels and water on stage when requested, occasionally ordering meals for performers/guests from local restaurants and picking them up for scheduled mealtimes. May be assigned to drive the PRAx Van to drive artist/ speakers. May be assigned to pick up food or equipment and run errands as needed. Event Monitoring Work closely with Senior Events Manage or event programmer to facilitate successful events. Follow the daily notes and run-of-show/event schedule. Act as greeter and guide for PRAx VIPs as assigned. Be attentive to speaker/client needs. Ensure the venue is set to specification and that the client and patrons are satisfied. Set up/strike tables, chairs, and other event materials and décor. Remain attentive to the guest experience throughout the event. This may include roaming through event space, identifying issues/needs proactively and without guidance, responding appropriately, and communicating to on-site supervisors about any situations that may arise. May act as a backup usher or ticket scanner as needed for events in which regular box office staff are not assigned. Outreach and Art Interpretation Communicate information and meaning about artwork, exhibitions and PRAx to a wide range of guests. Represent visual arts, performing arts, and engagement programs with care, sensitivity and enthusiasm (includes study and learning about individual artworks, exhibitions, and performances as well as themes). Facilitate and support design of tours or workshops on or off campus. Follow opening and closing procedures for the gallery. Support K-12 youth field trips as assigned (will require youth policy training). Represent PRAx at tabling events on or off campus. Prepare outreach, engagement, and interpretive materials for events, programs, and the gallery. Across all duties: Ability to make in the moment decisions to ensure events and programs run as smoothly as possible. Communicate successfully and professionally with all PRAx staff, volunteers, partners, clients, and guests. Follow all safety procedures. Support venue set-up and prep as assigned. Complete other duties as assigned.

A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services* (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications	Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be welcoming and personable – you enjoy working with the public and it shows. Able to successfully interact and communicate effectively with a wide range of guests, program participants, partners, and clients (including k-12 youth). Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and time management Prior experience in hospitality, events, education, or customer service. Comfortable with moderate physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs. Reliability and punctuality are a must. Must arrive at work on time, ready to work, and in appropriate work attire. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Working Conditions / Work Schedule	Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Hours are based on the needs of events and programs. The schedule is variable and there is not a set number of hours guaranteed each week. May involve standing for long periods and working in dim lighting or noisy environments. Use of personal electronic devices during shifts is prohibited except during breaks or for work-related communications. Attentiveness and situational awareness, often without direct supervision, are essential in this role.
