Job Summary | The Child Development Center, part of the School of Human Development and Family Sciences in the College of Health is seeking full or part-time, variable FTE, 9-month, professional faculty positions. Applications submitted to this recruitment pool are reviewed on an as needed basis. Qualified candidates will be contacted when positions become available. The Head Teacher (Lead Teacher) positions will establish a safe prekindergarten environment, teach the class of young children, conduct education and development screenings and assessments, identify, address, and track early education goals for individual children. They will conduct parent and teacher conferences and home visits required by the center model for the purposes of screening assessment, support, and goal setting and for sharing information on parenting, home/center activities, educational strategies, and developmental progress in conjunction with families. The Head Teacher will be responsible for modeling effective, developmentally appropriate teaching strategies for HDFS 430, implementing one prekindergarten class of 20 children, addressing the early education requirements of the Child Development Lab’s Oregon Head Start Prekindergarten Program, and meeting state licensing and national accreditation regulations. |

What You Will Need |
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months. The incumbent must also successfully complete a criminal background check screening from the Oregon Child Care, Early Learning Division, and be deemed fit for duty at placement and while serving in the position. This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030. |

Working Conditions / Work Schedule | Schedule is set per Director to meet Center and participant needs This position may periodically come in contact with human bodily fluids. The ability to kneel, stoop, bend, and sit on floor is required. Must be able to rapidly survey environment and move quickly to ensure children’s safety. The incumbent will occasionally be required to lift and carry children and equipment weighing approximately 40 pounds in a safe manner. The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to conduct occasional home visits in the general Corvallis area. |
