Position Summary | This recruitment will be used to fill three part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Peer Mentor for the department of Physics at Oregon State University (OSU). This posting is to recruit 3-5 part-time (expected 5-10 hours per week) undergraduate peer mentors for a transfer student peer mentorship program in the Physics Department. |

Position Duties | Physics Transfer Student Peer Mentors will be matched with 1-3 transfer student “mentees” in the physics program. Mentors will be expected to meet with mentees on a regular basis and attend weekly mentor training sessions. Duties may also include attending other events related to the peer mentorship program. |

Additional Required Qualifications | Undergraduate students majoring in Physics. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years. |

Working Conditions / Work Schedule | Mentors will be hired to work throughout the entire fall term. Additionally, there is a 2-4 hour spring mentor training event to take place before the end of the spring term. |
