CAOLAS is a member-based community group founded in 2015 working in and around the Loch Sunart and Loch Sunart to Sound of Jura Marine Protected Areas with a specific focus in Sunart, Ardnamurchan, Acharacle, Morvern and Mull.
Our mission:
For the last decade CAOLAS has been raising awareness about the issues facing our seas and for the last 5 years we have been involved in a Native Oyster Restoration Project (LNOP) in Loch Aline. CAOLAS is a member of the Coastal Communities Network, the Argyll Hope Spot and the Our Seas Coalition. We strongly believe that coastal communities must have a strong say in how their local waters are managed and they need to be supported to do so. Community-led marine management is already bringing about positive changes in our coastal communities.
The LASS (Lochs and Sounds Seascape) project seeks to demonstrate the impact and benefits of community-led marine management and find a way to ensure community voices are included in marine policy decisions.
We are looking for a reliable, organised project administrator part-time staff member to support project coordination that allows the team to focus on their core tasks. The main purpose of the role is to assist the LASS Director and Community Engagement Consultant in the following tasks:
Where possible, CAOLAS would seek to recruit the Administrator from within the local area and maintain the role for as long as funding allows.
Closing Date: Monday November 16th 2026.
