Key Responsibilities
Campaign Strategy & Execution
- Translate overarching campaign strategies into clear, time-bound, and actionable work plans across multiple issue areas.
- Track political and policy developments in real time to inform and adapt campaign tactics.
- Drive project management for advocacy campaigns, ensuring milestones are met and momentum sustained.
- Collaborate closely with performance marketing, communications, and creative teams to align narrative, mobilization, and media efforts with campaign objectives.
Partnership & Coalition Management
- Build, maintain, and grow effective partnerships with a diverse range of civil society organizations, scientists, Indigenous and community leaders, and advocacy coalitions.
- Represent Only One in external campaign alliances and serve as a collaborative and strategic partner to organizations on the frontlines of ocean advocacy.
- Coordinate campaign activities across partner organizations, fostering alignment on shared goals and synchronized moments of action.
Team Coordination & Leadership
- Guide and support key contributing team members across Only One (including marketers, PR experts, creatives, and policy advisors) to ensure cross-functional collaboration and impact.
- Manage external consultants or contractors contributing to campaign delivery.
- Foster a proactive, responsive, and solutions-oriented campaign culture that values experimentation, speed, and strategic risk-taking.
Tactical Implementation & Innovation
- Lead the development and execution of high-impact campaign tactics, from digital actions and public mobilization efforts to political pressure campaigns and influencer engagement.
- Rapidly respond to breaking news, political opportunities, or threats with timely and effective actions.
- Work with data and analytics teams to monitor performance and iterate in real-time.

The right candidate for this role is a sharp campaigner who thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. You have a strong grasp of the political landscape, know how to move targets and shape outcomes, and believe in the power of partnerships to create change. You balance visionary thinking with tactical execution, and you’re at your best when juggling multiple projects, rallying a team, and pushing through complexity to deliver wins.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 3 years of experience leading tactical work in a fast-paced campaigning environment. It’s certainly helpful if this is in an advocacy and political context, but not required.
- Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-stakeholder campaigns with measurable outcomes.
- Proven ability to build and sustain effective relationships with diverse partners and coalitions.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Political savvy and an understanding of how power operates in policy change, particularly around ocean and climate issues. Prior experience working on these issues is certainly helpful.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams, including external consultants and remote contributors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a remote, fast-moving, and highly collaborative environment.
