Position Summary:
OceanX Education is seeking a Director of Public Events to lead the strategy, design, and execution of OceanX Education’s public-facing programs in Singapore. This role will oversee a small team across Event Operations, Programming, and Audience Curation to ensure that events are impactful, inclusive, and operationally sound.
The ideal candidate will blend strategic vision with stakeholder fluency, delivering experiences that expand reach, deepen engagement, and advance OceanX Education’s mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead a comprehensive strategy for public events that advance OceanX Education’s mission and strengthen brand visibility.
- Manage and mentor a cross-functional team across operations, audience engagement, and content development
- Design and implement scalable systems and processes for event planning, execution, evaluation, and reporting, leveraging digital tools to ensure efficiency and consistency
- Integrate and optimize event management software (e.g., Cvent) to streamline registration, attendee engagement, and data collection.
- Utilize data analytics and dashboards to track audience engagement, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with institutions, venues, and technology providers to expand reach and impact.
- Oversee event budgets, contracts, and resource allocation with a focus on financial stewardship and operational excellence.
- Uphold high standards of quality, accessibility, inclusivity, and mission alignment across in-person, virtual, and hybrid events.
- Direct technical infrastructure for events, including AV systems, live-streaming, and digital engagement platforms.
- Serve as a senior spokesperson and ambassador for OceanX Education at public events.
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide regular impact reporting to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Willingness for moderate travel, primarily within the region and to the vessel.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings or late evenings, to support cross-time zone collaboration.
- Adaptable to varying workloads, balancing periods of focused execution with lighter operational phases.

Qualifications:
- Professional Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
- 15+ years of experience in public events, live programming, or experiential marketing, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and executing vision-aligned, audience-centered programming at scale
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience developing performance dashboards and assessing ROI for large-scale events
- Knowledge of AV production, hybrid event formats, and emerging event technology trends
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated success building and sustaining high-level institutional and corporate partnerships
- Proficiency in emerging AI tools and the ability to apply new technologies to improve efficiency, problem-solving, and program delivery
- Strong skills in presentation and analytical software, including PowerPoint and Excel

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation for the role includes a competitive salary dependent on years of experience, level of education obtained, as well as applicable skillset), and an excellent benefits package, including a comprehensive employer paid medical plan and CPF.
