Oceanic Global is seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial Business Development Intern to support the growth of our partnerships, programs, and impact initiatives. This role will assist in identifying and engaging potential partners, sponsors, and collaborators across industries including hospitality, events, media, corporate sustainability, and consumer brands.
As a Business Development Intern, you will work closely with the leadership and partnerships teams to support outreach, research, relationship management, and strategic initiatives that help expand Oceanic Global’s network and programs. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about sustainability and interested in gaining experience in partnerships, nonprofit growth strategy, and impact-driven business development. The candidate must be available for set part-time hours (to be negotiated) 2-3x days per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Business Development & Partnerships - Research and identify potential partners, sponsors, corporate collaborators, and funding opportunities aligned with Oceanic Global’s mission.
- Support outreach to prospective partners through email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, and partnership proposals.
- Assist in preparing partnership decks, proposals, and briefing materials.
- Maintain and update partner databases and CRM systems.
Program & Partnership Growth - Support growth initiatives for Oceanic Global programs including the Blue Standard, global events, and education initiatives.
- Help identify strategic opportunities for collaborations across industries such as hospitality, entertainment, fashion, and consumer brands.
- Track and report on outreach activities and partnership pipeline.
Research & Market Analysis - Conduct research on companies, sustainability leaders, and industry trends relevant to Oceanic Global’s mission.
- Identify potential collaboration opportunities with brands, organizations, and sustainability initiatives.
- Prepare research briefs and insights to support strategic partnership development.
Administrative & Strategic Support - Assist with scheduling partnership meetings and preparing meeting notes.
- Support the development of partnership resources, outreach templates, and internal documentation.
- Assist in maintaining partnership trackers, databases, and outreach lists.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Required:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Sustainability, Marketing, Communications, Environmental Studies, or related field.
- Strong research, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Strong written communication and outreach skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
Preferred:
- Interest or experience in business development, partnerships, fundraising, or sales.
- Passion for ocean conservation, sustainability, and environmental impact.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, Monday.com, or other project management tools.
- Experience conducting outreach or building professional relationships.
