Oceana in Ghana is seeking an Executive & Operations Coordinator. Oceana is the largest international advocacy organization dedicated solely to ocean conservation. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., Oceana works to rebuild abundant and biodiverse oceans by advancing science-based policies that protect marine ecosystems and the communities that depend on them.
Oceana’s Ghana office, established in early 2026 as the organization’s first office in Africa, works alongside coastal communities to rebuild fish populations, improve nutrition, and strengthen livelihoods.
Key responsibilities include providing high-level administrative and operational support to the Vice President of Oceana Ghana, serving as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, and managing a fast-paced, high-volume workflow. The Executive & Operations Coordinator will handle confidential correspondence, draft briefings, reports, and presentations, and coordinate the Vice President’s calendar, meetings, and travel logistics. The role also includes tracking priorities and follow-ups, supporting Board report preparation, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the Ghana office, including vendor coordination, expense tracking, and administrative processes.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized and proactive professional with experience supporting senior leadership in a dynamic environment. This role requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. The candidate is an excellent communicator—both written and verbal—with strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness. They are resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a geographically distributed, international team.
This position is part of Oceana’s Ghana office and will report directly to the Vice President, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective coordination and communication across the organization.
This is a full-time position based in Accra, Ghana. At least five years of relevant professional experience in an administrative, executive support, or operations role is required.
Oceana operates on a hybrid schedule, with in-office work required Tuesday through Thursday and the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays, subject to supervisor approval.
