Campaigns & Advocacy Director

Oceana in Ghana is seeking a Campaigns & Advocacy Director. Oceana is the largest international advocacy organization dedicated solely to ocean conservation, working to rebuild abundant oceans through science-based policy.

Oceana’s Ghana office, established in early 2026 as its first office in Africa, works alongside coastal communities to rebuild fish populations, improve nutrition, and strengthen livelihoods.

Key responsibilities include leading the design and execution of Oceana’s campaigns in Ghana, driving strategic advocacy efforts, and delivering measurable policy and conservation outcomes. The Campaigns & Advocacy Director will develop and implement high-impact campaigns, engage key stakeholders and decision-makers, and ensure alignment across advocacy, communications, outreach, and science teams. This role will also serve as a spokesperson, oversee campaign budgets and materials, and lead and develop a high-performing campaigns team.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and results-driven leader with a proven track record of advancing policy or legislative change. They are equally comfortable setting long-term campaign strategy and managing day-to-day execution, ensuring that advocacy efforts translate into tangible results. This role requires a strong communicator and collaborator who can navigate complex stakeholder environments, build relationships across sectors, and thrive in a fast-paced, campaign-driven setting.

Oceana operates on a hybrid schedule, with in-office work Tuesday through Thursday and remote work options on Mondays and Fridays. Oceana is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply. Please apply by April 24, 2026.
