Oceana is seeking a passionate, strategic, and community-driven Los Angeles Field Representative to join our U.S. campaigns team. This role focuses on building grassroots power in Los Angeles, CA to advance ocean conservation goals and protect marine life and coastal communities.
As Los Angeles Field Representative, you will lead state and local efforts to support Oceana’s campaigns on plastic pollution, offshore drilling, responsible fishing, and the protection of marine species. You’ll mobilize volunteers and community leaders, build strategic coalitions, engage decision-makers, and generate local support through events, outreach, and media. Working in close coordination with colleagues in Washington, DC and other field regions, you will translate national strategies into impactful grassroots action across Los Angeles, CA.
This is a remote position based in Los Angeles, CA and requires regular travel within the state, occasional travel to Washington, DC, and the flexibility to work evenings or weekends when needed.
The ideal candidate has experience organizing at the community level on policy campaigns and is comfortable managing a fast-paced workload with shifting priorities. A bachelor’s degree and two or more years of relevant experience or four years of direct campaign work are required. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to engage and motivate others, plan and execute events, and manage grassroots networks over time. Familiarity with LA’s political and environmental landscape is essential, and prior work on ocean or conservation issues is a plus.

Salary range: $65,000 – $70,000
