ORRAA is expanding and we have an exciting opportunity for an Insurance Officer to support our Blue Finance Innovation work.

ORRAA is seeking a knowledgeable and driven Insurance Officer to support the integration of insurance solutions into place-based ocean and coastal finance transactions. The Insurance Officer for Blue Finance Innovation will play a critical role in advancing ORRAA’s strategic insurance agenda, helping to de-risk investments, support Marine 30×30 objectives, and build resilience for coastal communities in the Global South. This position requires deep expertise in the insurance industry, a strong understanding of financial de-risking mechanisms, and literacy on climate adaptation and nature-based solutions. The Insurance Officer will work closely with the Senior Director for Blue Finance Innovation, the ORRAA team, development banks, investors, and a wide range of local and international stakeholders to advance cutting-edge approaches such as natural asset insurance, ecosystem-based risk modelling, and parametric and nature-linked insurance solutions. This is a substantive, technical, and strategically focused consultancy role, ideal for someone with a passion for ocean resilience, significant insurance sector experience, and the ability to engage complex, multi-stakeholder environments across multiple geographies.
